Our History

The business was originally started back in 1956 by Leonard Ripley and based in Northfleet Kent, Buying and Selling cars and small light commercial vehicles from high street Northfleet and continued this for another 15 years until his 2 sons came of age and joined the family business. Youngest son John after leaving school and working alongside Len for a number of years decided to break away and go into buying and selling heavy goods vehicles this is were Thomas Trucks was born although originally called Kents No1 Trucks the company was later rebranded Thomas Trucks when Johns son Thomas after working alongside his father from the age of 15 took the day to day running of the business and pushed it to were it is today.

We’re we are today

Going from selling cars locally in north Kent, we are now selling in excess of 200 trucks a year worldwide with clients in South America, Malaysia, Africa & all over Europe. We have become a trusted name in the truck export world. But it is not just truck sales we have specialist truck hire division were you can hire tippers, cranes to dropside trucks on a short or long term basis.

With a convenient location in Queenborough Kent we are based only 2 miles from Sheerness docks, 49 miles to Tilbury Docks making exporting your next purchase a lot more cost effective with less transport fees. We offer a full loading service from simply loading a car into a truck to fully dismantling and loading into a container.
